Dermatopathology Consultants:

F. Mack Sexton, M.D.
Dr. Sexton has a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University 
and is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina. He was an 
assistant professor and Director of Dermatopathology at Penn State 
College of Medicine. Dr. Sexton was associate professor and Director of 
Dermatopathology at the University of Florida. He joined Pathology Associates 
Services and Carolinas Pathology Group in 1992. Dr. Sexton is Medical 
Director of Celligent Diagnostics. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical 
pathology as well as dermatopathology.

Kevin S. Smith, M.D.
A graduate of the University of Iowa School of Medicine, he completed residency
training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center in Denver. He holds fellowship training in surgical pathology at 
Washington University Medical Center/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He has 
additional fellowship training in dermatopathology from Wake Forest University 
Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Smith joined Celligent Diagnostics in 1999. 

John A. Caldwell, M.D.
John A. Caldwell, near-native of Dallas, Texas has practiced pathology in the Spartanburg area since 2000. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Caldwell underwent his training in pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. In addition he completed a year subspecialty training in dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Caldwell is board certified in anatomic/clinical pathology and dermatopathology.
