Hematopathology Consultants:

Jared G. Block, M.D.
Dr. Block specializes in hematopathology and coagulation disorders. He completed a fellowship in hematopathology at Carolinas Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Peter Banks. Dr. Block joined Celligent Diagnostics in 2000. He serves as the Medical Director of ransfusion Medicine for the Carolinas Laboratory Network and Carolinas Medical Center-University Laboratory. Dr. Block is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with subspecialty board certification in hematopathology.

E. Travis Smith, JR., M.D.

Dr. Smith is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and has subspecialty certification in hematopathology. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, serving as Co-Chief Resident in Pathology. He serves as Medical Director of Laboratories at Anson Community Hospital in Wadesboro, and provides pathology services at CMC-Union in Monroe, NC. His areas of special interest include hematopathology and gastrointestinal pathology.
