A native of India, Dr. Adlakha completed medical school and residency training at Christian Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India - the leading medical school and referring hospital in northern India. Dr. Adlakha graduated in the top of her class and was recognized with an award in Ophthalmology and ENT in the Final Professional Exam. Due to political unrest, she moved to Delhi where she served as Pathologist-In-Charge in a private pathology lab. Dr. Adlakha returned to Christian Medical College Hospital in 1986 as a pathologist. Dr. Adlakha came to the United States with her husband in late 1986 and joined the AMC Cancer Research Center in Denver, Colorado, as a Research Fellow. She moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where she conducted research with Dr. David Bostwick at the Mayo Clinic studying whole mount radical prostatectomy specimens. Dr. Adlakha was later accepted into the residency program at the Mayo Clinic and completed that training in 1997. She went on to receive fellowship training in general surgical pathology at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Adlakha joined Medical Laboratory Consultants of Charlotte and the Pathology Department of Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy in 1998. She became part of Carolinas Pathology Group and Celligent Diagnostics when Medical Laboratory Consultants merged with the organization. Dr. Adlakha has special interest in prostate, pulmonary pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and cytology. She serves as the Medical Director of Carolinas Medical Center's Union Regional Hospital Laboratory.
