Dr. Calhoun grew up in Albany, Georgia and is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He completed the M.D./Ph.D. program at the Medical College of Georgia in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Cell Biology. He trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at Yale-New Haven Hospital where he was Chief Resident. Following residency Dr. Calhoun pursued a fellowship in anatomic pathology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Under the direction of Dr. Daryl Carter at Yale and Dr. David Page at Vanderbilt, he developed expertise in breast pathology. Dr. Calhoun joined Carolinas Pathology Group and Celligent Diagnostics in 2004.
