A native of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Jacobs received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency training in Anatomic Pathology as well as fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. His interest in gastrointestinal pathology was sparked by the great Harvey Goldman, whose diagnostic style and personal warmth affected him early in his pathology training. Outside of medicine, Dr. Jacobs has interests in art, literature and music and received a Fulbright Scholarship in 2000 to study media theory and philosophy at the University of Vienna in Austria after his time at UNC. Dr. Jacobs joined Carolinas Pathology Group in 2011, and is currently a member of both the College of American Pathologists as well as the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathologists.
