Urologic Pathology Specialists:

R. Tucker Burks, M.D.
Dr. Burks is a graduate of Davidson College and the Medical University
of South Carolina.  He received residency training at George
Washington University Medical Center and fellowship training in
gynecologic and obstetric pathology at Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine. Dr.Burks also completed a fellowship in molecular
diagnostics at George Washington University Medical Center. Dr.
Burks is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He has
authored numerous papers and a chapter related to the genitourinary
and gynecologic tracts. Dr. Burks is a member of the International
Society of Urologic Pathology.

Kevin S. Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Iowa Medical School and
received residency training at the University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center. He completed fellowships in surgical pathology at
Washington University-Barnes Hospital and in dermatopathology at
Wake Forest-Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Smith completed a prostate
pathology rotation under the direction of Peter Humphrey, M.D., Ph.D.
at Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Smith is board certified
in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as dermatopathology.
